Yangzhou (Yao) Bian 【边阳洲 】is an innov(i)/ative writer/artist from Sichuan, China--a boisterous place packed with tea houses (and->->->finger-licking dim sums+ sleight-of-hand troupe tricks) among-amidst-along the confluence of waterways and streets.
Yangzhou/Yao received her M.A. and B.A. in Theatre Studies at SUNY Binghamton in theory & criticism and dance. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP) at Binghamton University, prodding her nose into the transcreativity of theatre cross-cultures--and interpretive originality. Yangzhou was awarded the Marilyn Gaddis Ross Excellence Award and Ben Van Wyke Award for translation and research.
The kiddo has a VERY POOh-R sense of direction, and she treads off paths and trespasses territories, traveling along the unraveling ball of intuition and, euh, tripping over untangling threads of thoughts.
Collections from her oddly herbarium include AIDQ, Bananaland, Bookworn and Butterfly, Cat-a-strophe, Circus of the Brute, Do Not Say Sheep...amongst the Paintable/the Singable/ the Danceable/and THE EDIBLE!
